You tell yourself you do not have time to meal prep.
That is a lie.
You have time. You do not have a system. So you wander the grocery store like a zombie. You buy random things. Then you stare at raw chicken at 9 PM and order pizza because the pan looks complicated.
Meanwhile your body shows the truth. Soft around the middle. Tired by lunch. Grabbing vending machine garbage between shifts because you failed yourself on Sunday.
It does not take two hours. It does not take a kitchen full of containers. It takes 45 minutes. Done right. One time. And your whole week changes.
Step one. Pick your protein. Chicken thighs. Ground beef. Eggs. Buy four to five pounds total. That is your base.
Step two. Pick two carbs. Rice. Potatoes. Oats. Cook a big batch.
Step three. Pick one vegetable that does not make you miserable. Broccoli. Green beans. Peppers. Chop them raw or roast them while the meat cooks.
Step four. Assemble. Protein plus carb plus vegetable into a container. Repeat until the food runs out.
That is it. Four steps. 45 minutes. Done for the week.
"You are not too busy to meal prep. You are too comfortable eating like garbage and blaming your job for it."
Forget scales. Forget MyFitnessPal. Use your hand.
One palm of protein per meal. One fist of carbs. Two fists of vegetables. Need more because you are bulking? Add half a palm. Cutting? Remove half a fist of carbs.
This is not perfect. Perfect is the enemy of done. This is consistent. And consistency beats perfection every single time.
Overnight shift means your meal timing is weird. That is fine. Eat when you are hungry.
Pack meals that taste okay cold. Rice and chicken do not need a microwave.
Keep emergency protein at work. Tuna packets. Beef jerky. Greek yogurt. When your schedule shifts again, you have backup.
Drink water before you eat. Thirst disguises itself as hunger. Shift workers are chronically dehydrated. Fix that first.
Forty five minutes on Sunday saves you four hours of decision fatigue during the week. No more standing in front of the fridge wondering what to eat.
It also saves your money. Five days of prepped meals costs less than two days of fast food. Do that math over a month.
Most importantly it saves your self respect. Because nothing makes you feel weaker than knowing you planned to eat clean. Then failing. Again.
Stop failing. Start prepping.

Right now you have two options.
Option one. Close this tab. Keep scrambling. Keep buying convenience. Keep watching your waistline expand while your energy collapses. Keep telling yourself you will figure it out next week. You will not. We both know it.
Option two. Go to the store today. Buy what you need. Spend 45 minutes tomorrow building your food for the week. Not because you feel like it. Because your body shows what you value. And right now it shows a man who gave up.
You do not need more information. You need to act.
45 minutes. One session. Change your whole week.
YOUR MOVE.
